Valentine’s Day in the Capital: speed-dating, marriages, concerts, gifts and personalized menus

This year’s Valentine’s Day is celebrated in Bucharest with a rich offer of thematic presents, romantic concerts, speed-dating, mock marriages and personalized menus.
Valentine’s Day parties began as early as Feb 6, with Tapinarii traditional Anti-valentine’s Day tour, which took the band to several Romanian cities and will have Bucharest’s Club A as the endpoint today. Comedy actor George Bonea, to serve the audience a healthy ‘dose’ of standup comedy, will join on stage the artists who contributed to “The Romanian Dream”, the band’s latest release, Ada Milea, Fara Zahar, Alina Manole and Cosmin Vaman.
At Panic! Club in Bucharest, Saint Valentine is formally celebrated starting today, 11.00 pm with  the “Enter The Rabbit Hole” party, where the party-mood will get boosted by  Citizen (UK), Nek and Charlie Boy The Rabbit King.
Paula Seling will perform a Valentine’s Day special concert at Bucharest’s Radio Hall from 7.00 pm. The singer will be accompanied by the Big Band Radio Orchestra and the Romania and the National Radio Orchestra of Romania under the baton of conductor Ionel Tudor.
Valentine’s Day concerts will also be performed by the bands East Roots – B52 The Club, from 10.00 pm (tickets purchased at the gate  – RON 15) – and Marfar – at Hard Rock Café, 9.00 pm (RON 30). Arena Pub is organizing a karaoke evening with the release of mock marriage certificates, and at the Blue Club in Regie, similar certificates are given at the Valentine’s Day Party.
In the Historic Downtown, Let’s Meet – the largest single-person offline community – organizes “speed-dating”, an event involving an equal number of men and women open only for those who register on the website thru Wednesday. The Valentine’s Day starts at 10.00 pm.
Yet, what Valentine’s Day means first and foremost is little hearts, flowers,  declarations of love, surprises and other proofs of love, which on this particular day are more than on any other day. For those who know that a Saint Valentine’s Day gift is the definite proof of love, The Vintage Pub in the Capital organizes the fair “Jingling things, bric-a-bracs and other joys for lovers”, yesterday and today, 1.00 pm to 7.00 pm, where you can find valuable handmade jewelry, vintage clothes and objects, cosmetics, accessories and enticing decorations. Admission is free.
The by-now traditional Valentine’s Day Dalles Hall Fair is also worth visiting for the abundance of gifts for that special one. Exhibitors come up with a delicious rich offer of chocolate, marzipan and almond paste sweets and gingerbread, handmade 24K gold-plated and silver jewelry adorned with semiprecious stones, bio perfumes and cosmetics and handmade Valentine’s Day cards.
For those who believe that “Love goes through the stomach”, two Bucharest restaurant adapted their menus to the Lover’s Day. At Taj Restaurant, you can have mussels, rice and saffron and grilled veal, on the backdrop of music performed by Irina Tanase, Valentin Dinu and DJ Steve, and at Bistro Epoque, Chef Eddy Seys is preparing personalized menus for “He” or “She”, including a spectacular dessert.
