Compensations of EUR 16 M for former ministers for road construction

The government will expropriate a plot of land of 7,000 square meters from the “Gheorghe Sisesti” Agricultural Academy and will pay RON 71.6 M (EUR 16.3 M) for plots of lands that have to be expropriated for the construction of roads – former ministers Daniel Daianu and Dan Ioan Popescu and the Titan Mar company owned by former Bucharest Mayor and economy minister Adrian Videanu being among those expropriated, Mediafax informs. The payments will represent new compensations offered from the state budget for expropriated plots of land used for road construction. The highest compensations, of almost RON 49 M, will be paid for the expropriation of plots of land that total 218,265 square meters, for works on the modernization of the Bucharest beltway. Dan Ioan Popescu, former Industry Minister in the Nastase Government, will receive RON 66,084 for a plot of land of 423 square meters in Pantelimon commune, plus RON 159,937 for a plot of land of over 1,000 square meters that his wife owns in the same area. The Titan Mar Company owned by former minister and former Bucharest Mayor Adriean Videanu will receive over RON 500,000 for 1,532 square meters of land in Chiajna commune. The company owns approximately 81,000 square meters of land in the area. Important compensations of over RON 14.1 M will be offered for the expropriation of 51,056 square meters that will be used for the construction of Bucharest’s northern beltway. The list that includes 189 persons and companies also includes, among others, former finance minister Daniel Daianu, who will receive RON 11,591 for 63 square meters to be expropriated.
