The Imperial Ice Stars presents “Swan Lake” on Ice

The two shows take place at Palace Hall today, 4.00 pm and 8.00 pm.

The Imperial Ice Stars, one of the world’s top ballet on ice companies, presents “Swan Lake”! in Bucharest for the first time. While organizers had only scheduled one show, on February 2 originally, the high demand for tickets has nonetheless led to two Palace Hall shows being scheduled instead, today, 4.00 pm and 8.00 pm.The Imperial Ice Stars, the ballet on ice performed on some the greatest stages in the world, including London’s Royal Albert Hall and Sadler s Wells Theatre, Esplanade Theatre Singapore and Place des Artes in Montreal. The innovative choreography and first-class show are but a few reasons to see this show performed by ballerinas and male ballet dancers who amassed over 250 medals overall, among whom Evgeny Platov, two-time Olympic champion and four-time world champion, four-time Olympic Gymnastics Champion Alexei Nemov, and the pair Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski, multiple ice skating champions, against a backdrop of ice flames and a spectacular light show. The ballet libretto, inspired by a Russian legend, was staged for the first time at Moscow’s renowned Bolshoi Theater in 1877. But the chief attraction may very well be the absolutely new and complex ballet figures skaters created for this ballet. The performers began skating at the age of 3 to 4 years old, and rehearse 9 hours a day, six days a week. The over 110 costumes in the show have been created by Russian designers coordinated by Albina Gabueva, the Bolshoy Theatre costume designer.Founded in 2004, the ballet company has become one of the world’s greatest ballet ensemble within the just a few years, thanks to its innovative approach and new reading of classical music and ballet, which they brought to a level of brilliance its founders could have never imagined. The 8.00 pm performance tickets are sold out, yet, there are a few 25 pc discount tickets still available for sale for the 4.00 pm show. Prices range from RON 37 (category 5) to RON 225 (VIP tickets). Tickets can also be purchased online at biletoo.ro, blt.ro, bilete.ro, myticket.ro or eventim.ro.
