Police officers conducted eight searches on Thursday morning in Mures, Brasov and Sibiu counties, targeting the homes of persons suspected of stealing cars abroad and selling them in Romania. According to Andreea Pop, the spokesperson of the Mures County Police Inspectorate, over 50 officers took part in the searches. The investigation concerns several persons suspected of theft, concealment, and being accessories to auto theft, a communiqué issued by the Romanian Police informs. The searches were conducted by members of the Criminal Investigations Service from the Mures County Police Inspectorate and members of the Sibiu Criminal Investigations, with the support of the Sibiu Special Actions Service and the Mobile Gendarmes Group.
