Bucharest and two counties in the Southern part of Romania will be under a rain and wind yellow warning from Tuesday 2 am until Wednesday 3 pm. According to the alert issued by the National Meteorology Administration (ANM) yesterday, extensive areas in the South will be affected by heavy rainfalls with water quantities expected to exceed 20-25 litres per square metre and even 40 to 50 litres in certain places in Western Oltenia and South Banat. ‘Snow is mostly expected in the mountains. Towards the end of Tuesday night and in the first half of Wednesday, rain will locally turn into sleet and snow in the South,’ reads the ANM warning.
The wind will present intensifications in the South of Banat, including the mountain areas, as well as in the South Carpathians, where it will blow at over 70-80 km/h, and locally in Oltenia, Muntenia and Dobrogea, with gusts of 50-60 km/h. The bad weather warning applies to Bucharest and the Counties of Timis, Caras-Severin, Gorj, Mehedinti, Dolj, Valcea, Olt, Teleorman, Arges, Giurgiu, Dambovita, Ilfov, Prahova, Buzau, Calarasi, Ialomita, Braila, Tulcea, Constanta and partly Hunedoara, Sibiu and Brasov
