Tokes: Ceausescu, more generous than Ponta

Laszlo Tokes, president of the National Council of Magyars in Transylvania  (CNMT) holds that Nicolae Ceausescu was “more generous” than Victor Ponta, as he allowed “a certain autonomy to  Magyars”, whereas the PM does not allow a region being set up corresponding to the Szekler Land. According to Mediafax, Tokes said on Monday that “Ponta regime is a successor of the retrograde communist legacy” and finds it “terrifying that 23 years after the Revolution, there are still manifestations of a post-communist regime with a human face.” Victor Ponta hit back, accusing him of Horthyist parlance and a representative, along with Monica Macovei, of anti-Romanian interests for the past 20 years. Ponta also held that Tokes and Macovei are the paid representative of those who want Romania to be an unstable country and for Romania to be attacked from all sides. Monica Macovei hit back, saying that Romania’s last premier who spoke of “foreign agencies” was called Constantin Dascalescu.
