A 17-year-old Romanian teenager was arrested yesterday morning, along with another male, being charged with deadly stabbing a 22-year-old woman in order to steal her wallet, according to rtv.net, which added that the stabbing took place in Tokyo’s Kichijoji district, a mere 500m away from a railway station. Arisa Yamada, 22, on her way home from a local store, was attacked by the two males, one of whom stabbed her in the back and slashed her left wrist. An eyewitness called the police and the ambulance service. The victim was taken to hospital where she died from stab-induced hemorrhage. Investigators say the woman’s purse was found 200m away from the site of the incident. Three hours later, the police arrested one of the attackers, the 17-year-old being the prime suspect. The underage male said it was the other assailant who had killed the woman and stole her handbag.
