Perfect Tour has won the biggest contract of a Romanian travel agency, worth EUR 10 M per year, effective as of February 1, 2013, for the provision of travel services to OMV Petrom, the oil and gas company having employed Happy Tour until last year according to industry sources quoted by Mediafax. The Happy Tour deal with Petrom was signed in 2003, when the travel agency was owned by Nicolae Demetriade, and expired at the end of January 2013. Travel industry sources say the agreement had been originally signed for a period of a few years, but Happy Tour still won a second tendering procedure. Although a company normally gets such a contract a maximum of two times in a row, Happy Tour got it four times consecutively. Perfect Tour is now going to take care of all local and international travels, hotel accommodation, team building and other events for OMV employees. Sorin Vaduvoiu, head of Perfect Tour, did not confirm or deny the information. OMV Petrom officials have not commented on the news either. Perfect Tour posted EUR 30 M turnover last year, higher by 20 per cent than in 2011 and, at the end of 2012, was anticipating over 60 per cent sales rise for 2013. When it presented its estimates for this year, perfect Tour did not present clear arguments for such a high increase of business in a crisis period.
