If presidential elections were to take place next Sunday Crin Antonescu would win 21.5 per cent of the votes, followed by Sorin Oprescu (9.8 per cent) and Mihai Razvan Ungureanu (7.2 per cent), a GeoPOL poll conducted on February 18-25 shows. Thus, the poll reveals that Antonescu has no contender among the politicians that currently enjoy the highest levels of voter confidence. Mihai Razvan Ungureanu (MRU) is followed by Dan Diaconescu (5.6 per cent), Elena Udrea (3.7 per cent), Kelemen Hunor (3 per cent), Corneliu Vadim Tudor (2.8 per cent), Gigi Becali (2.2 per cent) and Adrian Nastase (1.2 per cent). According to the same poll, 44.6 per cent of Romanians are neither satisfied nor dissatisfied with the activity of the Ponta Government. 33.7 per cent of those polled declare themselves dissatisfied and only 16.9 per cent satisfied. ‘Answers indicate apathy more than political attitude’, says the interpretation of the poll results. Five per cent of all respondents do not know how to answer or refuse to answer the question ‘Are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the activity of the Government headed by Victor Ponta?’
