Antonescu, on alliance with PDL: Until 2016, out of question

National Liberal Party (PNL) Crin Antonescu yesterday said he saw an alliance with the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL) as impossible before 2016, when legislative elections are scheduled to be held, adding that, as of now, there are still many very serious and important issues that make a relationship with Democrat-Liberals unconceivable. Asked how he reads PDL leader Vasile Blaga’s statement Tuesday that he sees an alliance with the PNL as “quite natural”, yet not one with Dan Diaconescu, and who, speaking of a governing alternative with the Social democrats, said “in politics never say never”, although Blaga was opposed to the 2009 alliance with the Social Democratic Party (PSD), Antonescu had this to say: “I only agree with half of what Vasile Blaga said, if the focus is on right-wing  ideological programs, then, obviously, there is certain compatibility.
