Andrei Placinta sentenced to four years and six months in prison

Andrei Placinta, the son of former PDL Senator Sorina Placinta, was yesterday sentenced by the Bucharest Court of Appeal to four years and six months in prison for attempted murder and assault, Mediafax informs. The sentence is not final and may be appealed against at the Supreme Court. The Appeal Court judges on the other hand acquitted Placinta on the robbery charge. Senator Placinta’s son was brought to trial in early June 2011 by the Bucharest Prosecutor’s Office on charges of aggravated attempted murder, robbery, assault and disturbance of public order in connection with an incident on December 6, 2010 in Bucharest.
