Ponta wants to cut expenses on personnel and services by 15 pc

Premier Victor Ponta has asked the ministers to present in the following period proposals on lowering by 15 per cent the expenditures on personnel, goods and services. The request was made during the government’s meeting on Wednesday, official sources stated for Mediafax. “This measure does not necessarily entail layoffs; it seeks to render the administration’s activity efficient. No immediate deadline of 2 or 3 days was established because the message will be sent throughout the country to the structures subordinated to ministries,” the aforementioned sources pointed out . They also stated that the administration is registering a high level of expenditures on consumables and other products, as well as on externalized services. The Premier had stated several times that the government’s new layout will not result in a hike in the number of personnel and in the central structures’ budgets.
