The minister of European Funds, Eugen Teodorovici announced that Management Authorities will pay in March RON 1.2 bln for the invoices submitted by the beneficiaries of European funds within six operational programmes, the sum being secured from a Treasury loan, Mediafax reports. “We radically change the approach of the relation with beneficiaries: we want the timely payment of invoices to become norm in the system, the EU funds to reach beneficiaries immediately, thus supporting the reinvigoration of the economy,” Teodorovici informs in a communiqué. Under financing contracts, the sums owed to the beneficiaries of POS DRU should have been paid within maximum 45 days, the minister adds. Management authorities will be provided with the aforementioned sum in view of paying the invoices, as the Government of Romania approved a Treasury loan with this destination. The loan will be repaid with the money that will be received from the European Commission. MFE informed that the biggest sums were allotted to POR – approximately RON 408 M, POS Environment – RON 322 M, POS DRU – RON 258 M. The funds will reach Management authorities via the pertinent ministries.
