Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea (top seed 27) qualified for round three at the Indian Wells after defeating Spain’s Anabel Medina Garrigues in round two, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1, wtatennis.com informs. “I had never beaten Anabel before, so it was a big win for me and I’m really happy,” Cirstea said according to wtatennis.com. “It was my first match here. The conditions were tough and I was down a set and 3-1, but I still won in the end. Overall I’m really happy – it was a positive day.” In round three Sorana will play against Poland’s Agnieska Radwanska (top seed 3). For this result Cirstea will receive 80 WTA points and a check for USD 26,000. Simona Halep, the other Romanian representative in round two, was defeated by Slovakia’s Dominika Cibulkova (top seed 12), 7-5, 7-6 (7/3).
