Enel Green Power injected EUR 251 M in Romania in 2012

Last year, Enel Green Power invested 251 M euro in wind farms in Romania, from 330 M euro in the year before, according to data published yesterday by the Enel renewable energy division. “We consolidated our presence in major markets such as the United States, Canada and Romania, as well as growing in emerging markets such as Mexico and Guatemala,” Francesco Starace, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Enel Green Power stated in a press release. Late last year, Enel Green Power announced the connection to the national grid of three more wind farms in Dobrogea, with a total installed capacity of 206 MW, which called for investments of nearly 340 M euro. They bring to nearly 500 MW, the amount of wind power the company operates in Romania. Last year, Enel Green Power made total earnings worth 2.68 bln euro, up 14.6 pc from 2011, and a profit after tax of 431 M euro, up 4.6 pc.
