Anti-Romanian petition gathers 100,000 signatures in Great Britain

An online petition on the UK Government website demanding migration of Romanian and Bulgarian workers come to a stop has so far collected 100,000 signatures, which means it will be debated in the House of Commons, Daily Mail reports, according to which, 5.000 signatories daily tell  Prime minister Cameron to dwindle the influx of Romanians. The petition warns that migration impacts the health system, education and the housing market. The petition mistakenly mentions that Romania and Bulgaria joined the EU in 2005 (and not 2007). The document cites estimates saying 1.5 M people are looking for a job in Romania and Bulgaria, suggesting that labour restrictions being lifted in the UK, which now only allows a 25,000 “quota” of Romanian and Bulgarian unskilled workers to get employment in the UK, would lead to their heading to the UK.MigrationWatch claims that some 50,000 Romanian and Bulgarians are expected to immigrate to the UK every year, from 2014 onward, when labor restrictions are lifted.
