Searches conducted over child trafficking and sexual exploitation case

Police and prosecutors raided scores of homes in Dolj Co. Thursday of persons suspected of child trafficking, prostitution and procurement, having recruited, transported and sexually exploited over 200 people in Germany some of them underage. The searches carried out by the Craiova Office of the Organized Crime and Anti-Terrorism Directorate (DIICOT) will lead to 50 people being heard, suspects of being members of a criminal group dealing in child trafficking, sexual exploitation, prostitution and pandering to Germany, according to a Romanian Police press release. Investigators established that, during 2009 – 2013, several Dolj Co. residents along with a German national, recruited, transported and sexually exploited several adults and underage children in Germany, Berlin and surrounding areas respectively. Investigations so far show that over 200 persons, some of them underage, have been recruited and sexually exploited.
