600 revolutionaries protest at Government

Approximately 600 people, members of an organisation of revolutionaries, protested yesterday at the Government, in front of the State Secretariat for Revolutionaries’ Rights, blocking one lane of traffic in Iancu de Hunedoara Boulevard. Mediafax says the protest was organised by the Union of December 1989 Revolutionaries, being authorised from 10:00 to 16:00. Although the organisers had asked for an authorisation for 150 people, approximately 600 gathered on the sidewalk in front of the State Secretariat for Revolutionaries’ Rights, at the Government. There was no more room on the sidewalk, therefore the protest occupied the first traffic lane in Iancu de Hunedoara Boulevard. Bucharest Traffic Police workers diverted traffic onto the Victoria underpass route. The protesters said were dissatisfied with the cease of payment of their revolutionary indemnity, leaving many of them without any means for living.
