The Romanian home currency stayed close to RON 4.42 /euro in the first part of Wednesday’s session, with the National Bank of Romania (BNR) issuing a RON 0.001 ascending reference exchange rate, to RON 4.4179 /euro, yet another high for the past ten weeks. A rate higher than Wednesday’s was announced on Jan 7, 4.4223 RON/euro. On Tuesday, the exchange rate was of RON 4.4078 /euro. The RON went up against the USD by RON 0.016, to RON 3.4194 /USD, the highest rate since Dec 14, 2012’s RON 3.4205/USD. The RON also rise against the Swiss Franc (CHF), 3.6166/1, the highest level since Jan 10’s RON 3.6191 /CHF. A gram of gold was rated at RON 177.1362 on Wednesday, up RON 1.6364 (+0.93 pc) from RON 175.4998 in the previous session.
