MP and former MP prosecuted for conflict of interests

Lower Chamber MP Sonia Maria Draghici (PSD) and former Lower Chamber MP Ioan Cindrea are prosecuted for conflict of interests by prosecutors from the High Court’s Prosecutor’s Office after they hired their son and wife respectively at their parliamentary offices. According to the prosecution department of the High Court of Justice’s Prosecutor’s Office, MP Sonia Maria Draghici proposed and approved the hiring of her son at her parliamentary office from March 2 to September 15, 2009, and then from September 21, 2009, until her term in office expired. Former MP Ioan Cindrea is prosecuted for conflict of interests after he proposed and approved the hiring of his wife at his parliamentary office from October 5, 2009, to February 1, 2011, the aforementioned source pointed out.
