The Masterpiece: An exceptional Palace Hall concert

The Masterpiece, an outstanding musical event held at Palace Hall, Saturday, had Tina Guo, Uyanga and the Ciprian Costin-conducted Bucharest Symphonic Orchestra as its guests. Epic soundtracks premiered at the event, the work of some 140 artists who offered 140 minutes of beautiful music on the backdrop of dazzling light, laser and pyrotechnic and choreographic effects. The Hollywood composers involved – Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Thomas Bergersen, Guy Farley and Gerard Marino (musical scores written especially for this event and electronic sounds), allowed the Romanian audience to see what the future of orchestral concert music will look like. The program took a chronological route: the beginning of the universe (THE TREE OF LIFE), the Earth millions of years ago (OUT OF AFRICA), Ancient Greece (GOD OF WAR), Roman Empire (GLADIATOR), Middle Ages (DRACULA), life of some social categories in interwar Japan (MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA), the future where the subconscious could be controlled thru dreams (INCEPTION), the sacrifice-demanding future (THE DARK KNIGHT).
