‘Different kind of school – Know more, be better’ week

Known since 2012 as the ‘Different kind of school – Know more, be better!’ week, this year, too, the period from April 1 through to April 5 will be giving pupils opportunities to visit public institutions and become acquainted with the activity of their employees. On the Day of the Romanian gendarmerie, school pupils will participate in interactive climbing and intervention exercises, dog and horse demonstrations or presentation of equipment, together with specialists, at the General Inspectorate headquarters.

Pupils will also be the guests of the border policemen, who will present to them the new headquarters of the Border Police and the Command and Control Operational Centre. The will also show them how checks are performed at the Giurgiu border crossing point. Children interested in the work of the firemen are welcome to the National Firemen’s Museum (the Fire Tower’, the Fire-fighters’ Faulty and units of the Bucharest Inspectorate for Emergencies (ISU), where they will be able to talk to the fire-fighters on preventive-educational subjects. The pilots of the Aviation General Inspectorate of the Ministry of Interior will share with their younger guests aspects regarding their profession and will show them the aircraft they fly.

The week of extra-curricular activities also includes theatre shows, film screenings, sports competitions, games, museum visits, theme parks and even visits to companies offering to show children the full process by which a finished consumer good is obtained from raw material. After the extra-curricular week, children will be on their spring holidays until April 14.
