PM Ponta, denounced at CNCD

Mihai Razvan Ungureanu, President of the Civic Force (FC), denounced Premier Victor Ponta at the National Council for Combating Discrimination (CNCD), saying he made discriminatory statements on Roma community and Romanians during a March 19 BBC aired program. Ungureanu was at the CNCD yesterday to make his case and told journalists he hoped PM   Victor Ponta “will bear the rigors of the law”, which range between warning and fine. He added that was not Ponta’s first abatement of the kind, and believes that, from those said in the BBC led to Ponta “discriminating between the Roma community and Romanians, forgetting that the Roma community emigrating from Romania to Great Britain or Germany are Romanian citizens as well”. In Ungureanu’s view, the CNCD Leadership Body would reach a relevant decision in mid-April.
