Szekler flag removed from Covasna City Hall rooftop

The Szekler flag was removed from the rooftop of the Covasna City Hall after a relevant summons by the local Prefecture, According to the Antena 3 channel. “The Szekler flag was removed after the summons from the Prefecture. As we speak, the flag is on my desk,” said Mayor Thiesz Janos. Dumitru Marinescu, Prefect of Covasna, told a press conference March 4 that, acting on his request, the Prefecture Oversight Body made a county verification into where the law is encroached on hoisting flags on public buildings. It showed the Szekler flag was hoisted at the mayoralties of Targu Secuiesc, Baraolt, Cernat, Lemnia, Ojdula, Ghelinta, Varghis, Arcusandi Chichis. Marinescu pointed out that only the insignia or symbols allowed by law would be hoisted or displayed on mayoralty rooftops.
