Romania’s Davis Cup team lost also its doubles game against Netherlands on Saturday. Romania’s Victor Hanescu and Marius Copil were defeated by Robin Haase and Jean-Julien Rojer, 6-4, 7-5, 6-4. On Friday, Victor Hanescu (58th ATP) was defeated by Igor Sijsling (70th ATP), 6-4, 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-7 (5), 6-2, and Adrian Ungur (124th ATP) was defeated by Robin Haase (52nd ATP), 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. The Davis Cup game counting for round two of Group I, Europe-Africa Zone, was played within Brasov’s “Dumitru Popescu Colibasi” Sports Hall. Romania’s attempt to overturn the result failed mostly because of the fact that Horia Tecau was unable to play on Saturday in the doubles game, according to Romania’s captain Andrei Pavel.
