Oltchim Free Trade Union stages a rally today at the government HQ

The Free Trade Union of Oltchim will organise today, between 11.00 AM and 3.00 PM, a rally at the government headquarters, where 1,000 employees are expected to show up, reads a press release quoted by bursa.ro.

The protesters demand that Oltchim urgently accesses the EUR 45 M working capital that would allow the Ramnicu Valcea based facility to resume operations at a 65 pc capacity, followed by restarting the activity of ‘Petrochimie Arpechim Pitesti, Monomer si Policlorura de vinil.’They also want the reorganisation plan of the plant to include, with priority, the resuming of operations in all Oltchim installations (including Petrochimie Pitesti, PVC si Monomer) and the capitalisation of Oltchim through a capital increase achieved by converting into shares the debts to Electrica, AVAS, banks, etc. Other demands refer to paying the overdue salaries and related benefits (meal tickets), until the deadline of 10.04.2013.
