Latin Cafe, an Italian dance company run by choreographer Katina Genero, will perform a show for the first time in this country, at the Bucharest National Theatre (TNB), April 29, 8.00 pm. “Mil besos por un café” is a demonstration of choreographic mastership, a show centered on the dance-coffee binomial, a journey through the world of Latino music and the history of coffee, “the devil’s brew” that inspires poetry, philosophy and the most passionate love stories, an expression of the strongest feelings and human emotions. Under the leadership of the Turin choreographer, the 12 dancers from the most diverse parts of the world – Italy, Peru, Cuba, and Poland – who have Latino music as their common denominator, provide a modern reinterpretation of Caribbean, Afro and Latino-Caribbean dance. The production, a multicultural artistic project supported by Associazione Ritmi E Danze and Afro Centro De Formazione Alla Danza Mamadanse that sets out to promote and capitalize on young talent,, as well as music and choreography, had its preview in Italy in December last year.Latin Cafe, founded in 2010, was rooted in a choreography workshop run by Katina Genero which joins dancers and choreographer of various nationalities in a ballet and dance display against a broad backdrop of feelings and emotions stirred by the savory of coffee.
