The President of R. Moldova, Nicolae Timofti, on Wednesday designated PM in office Vlad Filat as candidate for the position of Prime Minister of the new Government. Also yesterday, the leader of the Liberal Party, Mihai Ghimpu, whose party was part of the former majority coalition, after talks with the president, said would not support the candidacy of the PM-designate. The Government in Chisinau was unseated by no confidence vote in Parliament, on March 5, after a crisis in the former Alliance for European Integration.
