NexT International Film Festival 2013 gets off the ground

This year too, the festival will include seminars dedicated to film direction and sound design.

The seminars at this year’s NexT will be held at Bucharest’s Cafe Verona Carturesti today thru Saturday. Admission is free.The seminars will also tackle film marketing and distribution, acting and direction master classes and discussions on how to get financing for independent productions and the latest post-production technologies.  Day one of the seminars deals with film marketing and distribution and Oscar nominee film requirements. Friday, April 12, will kick off with a 10.00 am sound design seminar taught by Swedish designer Roar Skau Olsen, who will talk about the interaction between sound design and film music.

On Saturday, April 13, also from 10.00 am, film director Radu Jude will teach the film direction seminar. His presentation will be a deconstruction of his film “Everybody in Our Family”, wherein the director will speak, among others, about what you should do not when you direct a film “Everybody in Our Family” (2012) premiered at the la Berlinale, and got, among others, the Heart of Sarajevo Award and the Bayard D’Or at the Namur Film Festival.The last seminar at this year’s NexT is dedicated to the video technology and equipment and held Sony and F64 Studio.

The seminar will be presented by Vladimir Chetroiu, a creative filmmaker at F64, who will talk about how to translate your ideas into images in quality productions and how to make a difference on the video market.NexT Intenational Film Festival, April 10-14, is an event organized by the NexT Cultural Society. The festival runs under the high patronage of the Princess Margareta of Romania. The activities of NexT Cultural Society are part of “Romania in 30 years – A Vision for the Future” of the Royal House of Romania.  The festival is organized with support from the National Center for Cinematography and the Romanian Filmmakers Union.
