MEPs prepare rules that will directly influence US-EU visa waiver agreement

The members of the European Parliament’s Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee have recently voted new rules that will make it simpler to reintroduce visas for the citizens of non-EU countries that have a visa waiver agreement with the EU based on reciprocity but do not offer this freedom to all EU member states, informs. According to the aforementioned source, these new rules directly influence the US-EU visa waiver agreement based on reciprocity because for the time being Bulgaria, Cyprus, Romania and Poland do not benefit from it.

MEPs are asking for the reciprocity mechanism to be consolidated in order for the EU to be able to reintroduce visas for countries that do not respect this agreement.
