Mircea Sandu and Dumitru Dragomir could be sued in U Craiova case

Romanian Football Federation (FRF) President Mircea Sandu and Professional Football League (LPF) President Mitica Dragomir could be sued in the case concerning the disaffiliation of Universitatea Craiova, LPF lawyer Catalin Ciubota stated yesterday for Mediafax. He stated that the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) presented the indictment to the defence lawyers, and will next decide exactly who will be sued.  “I did not see the indictment but from what I know three persons will be sued, Mr. Sandu, Mr. Dragomir and Mr. Octavian Goga, as well as LPF and FRF as juridical persons.

But, I repeat, my information is not certain, I haven’t seen the indictment,” Catalin Ciubota explained. Anticorruption prosecutors have finalized their investigation in the case concerning the exclusion of Universitatea Craiova and the persons investigated will go to the DNA in order to study the evidence brought against them. The 12 members of FRF’s Executive Committee that voted in 2011 to disaffiliate U Craiova were indicted for malfeasance in office at the request of U Craiova owner Adrian Mititelu.
