The average price of one liter of 95 petrol sold in Romania was EUR 1.30 on April 8, the lowest in the European Union, according to the Bulletin on the petrol price evolution in the EU, made public by the European Commission. In Bulgaria, the average price of a liter of 95 petrol was EUR 1.33, while in Latvia it was EUR 1.38. The average price of a liter of petrol in the EU reached EUR 1.60, with the highest value being registered in italy, where one liter of petrol cost EUR 1.77. Fuel prices dropped in Romania over the last two weeks. Friday, April 5, Petrom, the leader of the fuel retail market, took prices down by RON 0.09 for both petrol and diesel fuel, one week after a precedent price slash of RON 0.09 for petrol and RON 0.05 for diesel. The international quotations of crude and oil products are dropping, which indicates – at least on short term – a continuing of the downward trend taken by prices at pump, according to an analysis of the online publication specialised in energy, Energy Report.
