Tudor Giurgiu’s “Under Water” among the entries at Cannes’ Cinefondation

The Tudor Giurgiu medium-length film “Under Water” was selected in the Cinefondation section of the Cannes Film Festival, May 15-26, according to the festival’s website. Film director Jane Campion will be the chairwoman of the Cinefondation and short feature films jury. This year’s short film selection committee received for viewing 3,500 films from 132 countries, of which nine will compete for Short Film Palme d’Or, of which “Condom Lead”, directed by Mohammed Abou Nasser and Ahmad Abou Nasser, the first Palestinian film ever in the festival, along with films from Iran, Iceland-Denmark, Belgium, Poland, France and south Korea. A number of 18 films were chosen in the Cinefondation selection, of the 1,550 sent to the commission from some 277 countries around the world. – “Luna”, a Chilean film directed by Camila Luna Toledo, will also premiere in Cinefondation.
