Daimler, interested by engine factory in Arad

German group Daimler might be interested to open in the town of Arad a factory that will manufacture engine parts, the president of the German-Romanian Economic Association, Manfred Engelmann announced, quoted by Radio Romania Actualitati and hotnews.ro. “They were here (in Arad) made an audit, saw the situation and went on to Cugir, where they already manufacture gearboxes for the A-Klasse,” Engelmann explained. The Germans however did not give up the idea of constructing a factory in Arad, where – according to the president of the German-Romanian Economic Association – they will also produce “auto parts for engines.” The recent statement of PM Ponta about a big German investor coming to Romania sparked turmoil in the local media, with the most optimistic ones saying that Daimler plans to open an automobile factory in our country.
