Three paintings signed by Nicolae Grigorescu, Theodor Aman and Stefan Luchian will be put up for auctioned by the Bonhams 1793 Auction House in New York, May 8. According to the auction house website, the paintings are part of the “European Paintings” Session. “A Tavern in Rucar” , an oil on canvas, 24.2 cm x 45 cm, signed “Grigorescu” in the lower right corner, by Nicolae Grigorescu (1838-1907) is one of the star items at the auction, estimated price USD 80,000 – 120,000 (61,000 – 91,000 euro). “A View of a Park”, oil on canvas, 23.6 cm x 14 cm, by Theodor Aman (1831-1891) is estimated to fetch USD 10,000 – 15,000 (7,600 – 11,000 euro). “Anemones” – pastel (coal on blue paper) signed “Luchian” in the lower right corner, 29.2 cm x 23.5 cm, by Stefan Luchian (1868-1916) is estimated at USD 6,000 – 8,000 (4,600 – 6,100 euro).
