Extra RON 2.5 M for advertising CFR Marfa’s privatization

The government has approved a RON 2.5 M increase, from RON 50,000 to RON 2.55 M, in the budget for advertisement included in the Transportation Ministry’s privatization budget, in order to advertise the sale of CFR Marfa shares. The decision was taken during the government meeting on Tuesday. The RON 2.5 M will be obtained by lowering the ministry’s budget for evaluation reports in the privatization and post-privatization process from RON 11 M to RON 8.5 M. “The hike in the volume of expenditures on advertisement is justified by the need to reach a number as high as possible of potential buyers interested in buying the package of shares that the Transportation Ministry manages within CFR Marfa as shareholder on behalf of the Romanian state,” government spokesperson Andrei Zaharescu explained.

The deadline for filing the participation documents for the pre-qualification stage of the tender for the privatization of CFR Marfa has recently been extended from April 22 to May 8, and the final deadline for opening the offers and selecting the winner is June 20.
