Tens of thousands of films are proposed for the Short Film Corner every year, yet only 1,500 are accepted. MTV eyes ‘Scream’-based TV series MTV announced its intention to make the ‘Scream’ thriller film franchise into a television series of the same title, according to Mediafax. MTV ordered a 1-hour ‘Scream’ pilot, and the company to produce the series, Dimensions Films, is carrying out negotiations with Wes Craven over his directing the pilot. The series will make its small screen debut in the summer of 2014, MTV, owned by the Viacom group, announced. The ‘Scream’ franchise about a masked serial killer who stalks and harasses his victims before killing them, started in 1996 and carried on with sequels in 1997, 2000 and 2011.
