Petrom sales and profit down 4 pc in Q1

Compared to Q1 2012, OMV Petrom (SNP) sales in Q1 2013 decreased by 4 per cent to RON 5.78 bn (EUR 1.31 bn) and the net profit also went down at the same rate, to RON 1.33 bn (RON 303.2 M), the company informed through a press release yesterday. Petrom notes the net income returned as a percentage of shareholders equity exclusive of special elements was up 5 per cent, to RON 1.32 bn and the EBIT income exclusive of special elements of RON 1.57 bn decreased by 4 per cent, influenced by intense seismic campaigns in the Black Sea. The indebtedness rate continued to improve to 4 per cent at the end of the reporting period and the daily production was stable, with intensified exploration activities, both offshore and onshore.
