The Romanian Peasant Museum (MTR), Brancovenesti Palaces Cultural Center and the Museum of Art of Timisoara invite you to attend the ORAVITZAN event-exhibitions, at the MTR, May 17 thru June 23, and Mogosoaia Palace, May 20 – June 30, 2013, at the Mosaic Hall. Silviu Oravitzan, born in 1941 at Ciclova Montana, Caras-Severin County, participated during a career that spanned 35 years at several national and international exhibitions. His works are part of many museum and private collections in the United States, UK, France, Germany, Romania, Sweden, Austria and Italy. Seemingly influenced by various 20th century abstract painters, the Banat painter’s art is held as rooted in the Byzantine art, the Eastern Orthodox-Christian religious art.
