Transelectrica posts double profit in Q1

Transelectrica (TEL) posted for the first quarter a net profit of RON 91.75 M (EUR 20.9 M), more than twice the figure reported for the same interval of 2012, Mediafax reports. The operational profit EBIT in the first three months of this year advanced by 59.5 pc, while losses declined to RON 293,000. In the first quarter of the previous fiscal term Transelectrica had an operational profit of RON 67.92 M and losses of RON 13.89 M. Operational incomes amounted to RON 577.93 M in the first three months of this year, down 34.8 pc, and expenses diminished by 48 pc, to RON 384.89 M. In the similar period of 2012 Transelectrica had operational incomes of RON 886.75 M and expenses of RON 740.8 M. At the end of March, the company had short-term debts of RON 691.58 M, down 27.7 pc against the end of last year and long-term debts of RON 1.609 bln, 3.3 pc higher than in December 2012.
