Romanian carriers want to stop work

Romanian transporters are threatening to completely stop any activity indeterminately on Thursday, 00:00, and have asked Romanian embassies, via the Foreign Ministry, to communicate the news further in order to prevent foreign carriers from being blocked in Romania, Mediafax notes. He initiators of the protest say that, taking the example of their colleagues in Spain, Greece and Italy, transport operators will remain stationed near major cities, on ring roads and by the side of European roads all over Romania and that only passenger, police, ambulance firemen etc vehicles will be allowed to overtake the columns. The President of the Federation of Romanian Transport Operators, Augustin Hagiu, yesterday said commercial traffic might remain blocked up to two weeks.
