Vodafone earnings matched EUR 769m euro in 2012

Vodafone reported total Romanian revenues equal to 769m euro in the fiscal year 2012-2013, ending March 31, down 5.1 pc year on year precedent, under comparable conditions, adjusted for exchange rate variations. The drop was mainly due to lower interconnection charges, according to a Vodafone press release quoted by Mediafax.
Vodafone service revenues in Romania added up to 713.2m euro, down 7 pc according to customer base year on year, due to lower interconnection tariffs. The Vodafone Romania customer base rose by 142,461during the interval examined, to 8.08m mobile service customers in late March. In the fourth quarter, the customer base fell slightly, 40,777.
“We have concluded a very productive and dynamic year, marked by important events for Vodafone Romania, including the launch of 4G services and the Regional Network Operations Center, which coordinates from Bucharest the activity of 7 Vodafone networks. If we exclude the total impact of regulation, our earnings have been on the rise in the third and fourth quarter ending March 31, year on year, which is a sign of stability that makes us optimistic. Mobile data revenues increased over 25 pc in the fourth quarter and we expect the trend to continue throughout the year, as well as the steep purchases of smartphones – two lines of business we will keep supporting strongly,” said Inaki Berroeta, Vodafone Romania President-CEO.
