The members of the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) will meet tomorrow at Miercurea Ciuc for the 19th Congress of the party, which will have as main topic the modifications that will be operated in the Statute of the Union. The UDMR congress will not bring changes in the leadership, but will modify the Statute, will outline the main ideological platforms and will decide on creating a women’s organisation. According to UDMR MEP Iuliu Winkler, the UDMR congress of May 25 will bring together the highest number of delegates since the founding of the Union – over 700. The leaders of both power and opposition parties were invited to attend the event.
