Andrea Bocelli and Angela Gheorghiu brought passion and quality music to Bucharest

Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli performed for the first time before an enthusiastic Romanian audience of over 20,000 Saturday evening, in a concert that had Romanian soprano Angela Gheorghiu as guest of honor. Andrea Bocelli, one of the world’s most beloved tenors played some repertoire favorites along with songs from his latest album   – “Passione”.

Special guest Angela Gheorghiu, too, got a warm reception from the audience who rewarded her performance with loud applause.The concert started off with “Gli arredi festivi” from “Nabucco” by Giuseppe Verdi, performed by the Radio Choir and the National Radio Orchestra conducted by Marcello Rota. Then, Andrea Bocelli came on stage, starting his set with an aria from Giuseppe Verdi’s “Il trovatore”, after which he thanked the audience.
