After winning the tender for the construction of the scientific research centre in Magurele last month, ELI-NP and the Strabag (Austria) – ED Zublin (Germany) association started the construction works last week, evz.ro informs. The research centre will cover 30,000 square meters and will have over 1,000 geothermal pumps. “I confirm that construction works are ongoing,” Nicolae Zamfir, director general of the “Horia Hulubei” National Institute for Nuclear Physics and Engineering Research and Development, stated. The winning bid had a value of RON 286.3 M, VAT not included. Both local constructors (such as Comnord and Bog’art) and foreign constructors (Astaldi, Hochtief and Bouygues) took part in the tender.
