Romania to take over the presidency of the SEECP parliamentary dimension

Romania is to take over from Macedonia the presidency of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) parliamentary dimension. The Chamber of Deputies Speaker Valeriu Zgonea is taking part, since yesterday, to the tenth conference of the SEECP member states parliament speakers, due 26-28th May in Ohrid, FYROM. Romania will head the SEECP parliamentary dimension during June 2013-June 2014, according to a communiqué released on Friday by the lower chamber. According to the quoted source, on the conference’s agenda there is a session dedicated to “The economic crisis and the new challenges – the role played by national parliaments and the role of inter-parliamentary regional cooperation”, also the presentation of the Working Group report, as well as the means to further develop the parliamentary dimension in order to build a parliamentary assembly of SEECP, to adopting the conference’s documents, including a final declaration.
