Raiffeisen, EUR 30 M profit in Romania in Q1

The profit made by Raiffeisen Bank International in Romania stagnated at EUR 30 M in the first quarter of the year amid lower revenues from interest, an increase in revenues from commissions and lower spending and provisions, Mediafax reports, quoting a Raifeissen report published Tuesday. The profit before tax stood flat at EUR 36 M. Operational earning decreased from EUR 119 M to EUR 115 M, the negative trend in interest incomes offset by bigger gains from bank commissions. Revenues from interest fell from EUR 80 M to EUR 72 M, while earnings from commissions rose from EUR 33 M to EUR 36 M. The provisions constituted by Raiffeisen in Romania during the interval examined came to EUR 21 M, from EUR 27 M in Jan-arch last year. The Romanian assets of Raiffeisen Bank International climbed 6.5 pc in the first quarter, to EUR 6.37 bln.
