3.1 quake in Vrancea

A tremor having the magnitude of 3.1 on the Richter scale took place yesterday at 7.46 a.m. in Vrancea region, this one being the fifth quake during the weekend, according to the National Institute for Earth Physics. The depth of the quake is estimated at 84 km. The closest localities to the tremor were Covasna (38 km), Focsani (44 km), Targu Secuiesc (49 km), Ramnicu Sarat (50 km) and Marasesti (51 km). At 6.09 a.m. another 3 degrees on Richter scale quake took place near the border with Serbia, three km depth. On Saturday, in the region Vrancea Buzau, three earthquakes took place: by 0.58 a.m. – 3.2 quake on Richter scale (127 km depth), by 21.42 – 3 degrees (142 km depth) and by 22.42 – 3.4 degrees (124 km depth).
