Romsilva recovers over 27,000 hectares of illegally-returned forests

Romsilva has recovered this year over 27,000 hectares of forestry land returned illegally, with that surface area becoming part of the national forestry fund, Adam Craciunescu, general manager of the National Forest Authority (RNP) – Romsilva said, according to Agerpres. ‘We have challenged some decisions in court and managed to win 2,100 hectares of land in Valcea County. This portion was returned illegally during 2005-2006. According to the quoted source, Romsilva also succeeded in winning this year another major court trial involving 25,100 hectares of forests in Mures County. In another development, Ion Dumitru, former head of Romsilva and former PSD deputy, was sentenced on Friday to three years suspended sentence for fraudulent purchase of a Russian tank, transformed later into a bulldozer with a crane. The decision is final.
