No investor has bought the auction documentation to be able to bid on the 35 per cent held by ONT Carpati in the company that owns the Marriott Hotel in Bucharest, on Monday. The auction will be resumed today, money.ro informs. The starting price was EUR 22.3 M plus VAT. The representatives of the liquidator would not say if the price would be dropped in view of the new auction on Wednesday. ONT Carpati’s biggest creditor is Bank of Cyprus, that owns 93 per cent of the registered shares of the company. The most important asset the Romanian subsidiary of the Bank of Cyprus is a loan of EUR 110 M given to the company that owns the Marriott Hotel, extended last autumn and falling due in 2017.
